How to Protect Customer Information in AI Chat
Privacy-conscious support starts with collecting less information and checking who is authorized to see it.

Collect the minimum
A public chatbot usually does not need full payment details, passwords, or identity documents. Explain what data is needed and redirect sensitive requests into properly authenticated workflows.
Separate business workspaces
Use server-side authorization and database row-level security to isolate each company's conversations and knowledge. Do not trust a business ID submitted by the browser without verifying membership.
Set retention and review practices
Publish understandable retention and deletion policies, restrict support-staff access, and audit third-party processors. Test cross-account access attempts before launch and after major changes.
